Security Matters

Sensitive data such as you Inverter API key is encrypted in our database. Choose to enable Two Factor Authentication on your account preventing access if your password is compromised.

Caring for your data

When you use our service, we need to collect some personal information. To keep your data safe while it travels between your device and our servers, we employ the power of SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption. This technology ensures that your information remains confidential and protected when in transit. We go the extra mile with AES-256 encryption within our database. This robust encryption method secures crucial data like your postcode and the essential API keys required to make our service functional. We offer you the option to enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). This extra layer of protection adds another level of security to your own account. It’s like having an additional lock that requires a unique code from your end to access your account.

Encryption at Rest

We’ve implemented AES-256 encryption within our database. This state-of-the-art encryption standard keeps your your postcode and the essential API keys necessary for our service’s smooth operation, shielded in the database. AES-256 stands for Advanced Encryption Standard with a whopping 256-bit key length. Even in the unlikely event of a breach of the database, your data remains safely encrypted.

Two Factor Authentication

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is like having a double lock on your online accounts. In addition to your regular password, 2FA adds an extra step to verify your identity. Once enabled, when you log in, you’ll need to obtain a special code from your authentication app that you need to enter. This means even if someone knows your password, they can’t get in without that unique code from your phone. It’s an easy way to keep your accounts safe and secure.

Planned Maintenance

From 11am Saturday 16th Nov

Following the outage earlier this week, I’ve decided to move the website/service to a new hosting provider. While the outage prompted the timing, it wasn’t the only reason.

The key benefit of the move is increased computing resources, which are essential given that the site processes hundreds of commands every 30 minutes.

Migration Timing and Impact

The migration will start at 11 am Saturday, 16th November. Unfortunately, migration can take 24–48 hours, but it is often much quicker.

During this time:

  • Maintenance Mode: The site will be in maintenance mode (inaccessible) to freeze the database and pause account changes.
  • Automation: Scheduled automation should continue, but there may be a brief gap when the internet transitions to the new server.
  • Temporary Issues: Some features, such as charts and parts of the dashboard, may not work immediately after migration. These will be fixed as quickly as possible.

If you’d like me to temporarily pause your settings at 11 am to allow manual control, please let me know. I will also be able to access the settings during the majority of the migration for last minute changes.
