Overview. #

The schedule settings home screen will vary depending on the app version you are using. The two images illustrate the v1 and v2 screens. V1 focused on price-based charging, while v2 adds time-based options and introduces upper and lower charge limits, offering users increased flexibility.

v1 Schedule Settings #

Two tabs enable switching between charging and discharging plans. The schedule operates daily, charging during periods within a 24-hour cycle when electricity prices fall below a set threshold (e.g., Octopus Flux), or for Octopus Agile users, during the cheapest 30-minute Agile periods.

v2 Schedule Settings #

Version 2 introduces Time Blocks, allowing you to incorporate them into your schedule. Each block can feature distinct charge and discharge plans, complete with individual upper charge limits and battery reserve settings. This offers a marked improvement in flexibility. However, if desired, a single time block can still be set to charge only when prices fall below a specified threshold or during the most economical Agile slots.

Planned Maintenance

From 11am Saturday 16th Nov

Following the outage earlier this week, I’ve decided to move the website/service to a new hosting provider. While the outage prompted the timing, it wasn’t the only reason.

The key benefit of the move is increased computing resources, which are essential given that the site processes hundreds of commands every 30 minutes. 

Migration Timing and Impact

The migration will start at 11 am Saturday, 16th November. Unfortunately, migration can take 24–48 hours, but it is often much quicker.

During this time:

  • Maintenance Mode: The site will be in maintenance mode (inaccessible) to freeze the database and pause account changes.
  • Automation: Scheduled automation should continue, but there may be a brief gap when the internet transitions to the new server.
  • Temporary Issues: Some features, such as charts and parts of the dashboard, may not work immediately after migration. These will be fixed as quickly as possible.

If you’d like me to temporarily pause your settings at 11 am to allow manual control, please let me know. I will also be able to access the settings during the majority of the migration for last minute changes.
