Monitoring MyEO GivEnergy commands #

GivEnergy Portal

Overview. #

MyEO sends multiple commands to your GivEnergy inverter to controlling charging and discharging.

You can view these commands by looking at the inverter remote control logs in the GivEnergy portal.

Note. GivEnergy have made minor changes to the portal since the video was recorded. The principles will still help!.

Instructions. #

1.

Access your GivEnergy portal #

Log into your GivEnergy web portal using your GivEnergy username and password.

Inverter Settings #

Using the left hand side blue menu, click on “My Inverter” under the systems heading.

Remote Control #

Click on the remote control cog icon in the top right corner. You may need to select the three dots to see the remote control item / cog.

Jump to Logs #

Scroll to the bottom of the page, or click on the “jump to logs” blue button in the top left corner.

Remote Control History – Filters #

Deselect the two green filter switches in the bottom left corner. “Filter Errors” and “Filter Same Value Response”. This will then display all commands controlling your inverter.

Remote Control History – Viewing Commands #

MyEO commands have an appropriate suffix in the description on the right under “API”. Using this you can determine the commands being used, and check their success rate.

Download #

If you need to share the logs, you can download them using the download icon in the bottom left corner.

Planned Maintenance

From 11am Saturday 16th Nov

Following the outage earlier this week, I’ve decided to move the website/service to a new hosting provider. While the outage prompted the timing, it wasn’t the only reason.

The key benefit of the move is increased computing resources, which are essential given that the site processes hundreds of commands every 30 minutes. 

Migration Timing and Impact

The migration will start at 11 am Saturday, 16th November. Unfortunately, migration can take 24–48 hours, but it is often much quicker.

During this time:

  • Maintenance Mode: The site will be in maintenance mode (inaccessible) to freeze the database and pause account changes.
  • Automation: Scheduled automation should continue, but there may be a brief gap when the internet transitions to the new server.
  • Temporary Issues: Some features, such as charts and parts of the dashboard, may not work immediately after migration. These will be fixed as quickly as possible.

If you’d like me to temporarily pause your settings at 11 am to allow manual control, please let me know. I will also be able to access the settings during the majority of the migration for last minute changes.
